Educational offer
The educational offer of the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics (FTIMS) includes four fields of study with a general academic profile:
- Technical Physics
- Applied Computer Science
- Applied Mathematics
- Actuarial Science and Financial Analysis
We recruit candidates for full-time studies. We conduct first-cycle studies including engineering (Technical Physics, Applied Computer Science) and undergraduate (Applied Mathematics) studies as well as second-cycle studies awarded with a MSc degree (Technical Physics, Applied Mathematics) or a MSc Eng. degree (Applied Computer Science).
The Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics also provides the opportunity to choose study in fields of study where classes are conducted in English as the language of instruction:
After completing the Master's degree, graduates have the opportunity to develop their scientific interests as part of doctoral studies at the TUL Interdisciplinary Doctoral School. The Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics conducts research in three scientific disciplines:
- physical sciences in the field of the natural and exact sciences
- mathematics in the field of the natural and exact sciences
- Information and Communication Technology in the field of engineering and technology
After defending the doctoral dissertation, the graduate demonstrates broad specialist knowledge, the ability to cooperate with other research centers in the country, university teaching experience and research preparation necessary for further scientific work. Those who do not plan to pursue an academic career will use the cognitive and self-education skills as well as teaching and organizational experience acquired in the course of their studies in their professional work.
