Dr inż. Krzysztof Guzek from the Institute of Information Technology has been honoured with Award of the Marshal of the Lodz Voivodeship in the Competition for the best dissertations and works thematically related to the Voivodeship of Lodz. The award-winning doctoral dissertation is titled ‘A generative dynamic visual identity system of Lodz University of Technology’.
As we can read in the award justification: 'The work presents a comprehensively designed project of a new visual identity system for Lodz University of Technology. It employs generative mechanisms using an originally designed algorithm based on a system of aesthetic rules devised by the author. The project successfully demonstrates the great range of opportunities offered by new media in the field of visual arts. It is an original and highly innovative artistic achievement, which constitutes a significant contribution to the development of represented artistic discipline'.Image
Krzysztof Guzek is a graduate of the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics, TUL, where he currently holds the position of Assistant Professor. He also teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, as his research interests are situated at the intersection of computer science and graphic design. The awarded dissertation, supervised by prof. Lesław Miśkiewicz, was defended with honours at the Academy of Fine Arts in 2020.
This is not the first time that the work has been recognised by the experts – we recently informed you about the project’s success at an international Design Biennale in Peru.
