As part of the Pi Day celebrations, we invite you to attend a meeting with Maciej Dunajski – University Professor of Mathematical Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Cambridge, a graduate of the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics, Lodz University of Technology, and Merton College and Mathematical Institute, Oxford.
Prof. Dunajski collaborated with Roger Penrose and Stephen Hawking. His research interests revolve around geometry and black holes, broadly construed. During the meeting, he will talk about his latest book Geometry: A Very Short Introduction, which offers a fresh modern introduction to a fundamental branch of mathematics, from Euclid to the geometry of spacetime in black holes.
