Dr inż. Krzysztof Guzek, from the Institute of Information Technology, has been shortlisted as finalist in this year's Design Biennale in Peru.
Dr. Guzek was recognised for his project of ‘A generative dynamic visual identity system of Lodz University of Technology’, which was ranked as one of the top three works amongst 9,596 submissions in the category of ‘visual identity design’ .
The project was created as part of my doctoral dissertation defended in 2020 at the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. The dissertation has also been nominated for the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland's Award for the best scientific dissertations, explains the author.
The jury appreciated the innovative character of the project, which is a pioneering attempt to apply the concept of generative visual identity in the Polish higher education setting. It offers a coherent system of graphic marks, including two variants of the master logo – static and dynamic (to be used depending on the target medium), a set of logos for the university organisational units, and a set of personal logos for students and employees. The author also proposed templates of signage, stationery and promotional materials, which altogether provide a picture of a uniform visual language.
The Design Biennale exhibition will be available to see at the Museum of Callao (Peru) from 3 to 15 December 2021.
