During the XXIII Conference on Liquid Crystals, Chemistry, Physics and Applications, which was held in Karpacz on 18 – 22 October 2021, a graduate of Technical Physics, Michał Szmigielski, MSc, won the second prize in the competition organised by the Polish Liquid Crystal Society. The aim of the competition was to recognise exceptional MSc theses in the field of liquid crystals.

On Thursday, 23 September, the Rector of Lodz University of Technology presented awards to the winners of the competition for the best description of the impact on the functioning of society and economy in criterion III of scientific discipline evaluation. Twenty four applications were submitted.

Research conducted by Professor Katarzyna Pernal from the Institute of Physics is highly regarded by the scientific community. Prof. Pernal was recently invited to write an article in the renowned NRC journal on advances in chemistry and computational physics. She is also nominated for the Heisig Prize known as the 'little Nobel'.
